Student Advocate's Office
The SAO offers representation, help, and advice to any student or group involved in a dispute with the University. They are an executive office of the student government at Berkeley.

Staff Ombuds Office
The Staff Ombuds Office is a confidential, informal, impartial, neutral and non-adversarial alternative for the resolution of work-related problems and concerns. They advocate for fairness, equity, justice, and humane treatment in the workplace.

Student-to-Student Peer Counseling
Student-to-Student Peer Counseling is a group of student counselors providing free, one-on-one, confidential, walk-in and phone-in services to UC Berkeley students. They provide a supportive atmosphere where students can openly talk about their feelings. Additionally, they provide up-to-date, extensive referrals for students seeking professional or specialized help.

Gender Equity Resource Center
GenEq is the Gender Equity Resource Center. It is staffed by three experienced professionals: a director, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Programs and Services Coordinator, and the Women’s Programs and Services Coordinator & Sexual Harassment/Assault Resource Specialist. These three professional staff along with student interns work in close partnership to serve the UC Berkeley community and to address the complexities of sexual orientation, sex identity and gender discrimination.

UC Police Dept.
The Berkeley campus has a dedicated, full- service police department with 77 officers, 45 full- time non- sworn personnel, and 60 student employees. UCPD, located at 1 Sproul Hall, has primary law enforcement jurisdiction on the campus of the University of California and associated University properties. The department is empowered as a full- service state law enforcement agency pursuant to section 830.2 (b) of the California Penal Code and fully subscribes to the standards of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
